What's worse than not being able to spell tomato?

Having Tomato Horn Worms!!! Ginger found it this morning in the dirt. By the time I could get a spoon to remove it, it was stuck to a branch. That is what ate my tomato plant, not bunnies. And what I thought were bunny gifts on the floor - turned out to be Tomato Horn Worm poop!!!!! (I think anyway. Maybe they're eggs!) I don't think I can handle this kind of gardening!

These worms have a predator - the Braconid Wasp. Does anyone see the problem here? Wasps! To attack worms, I have to deal with wasps? If these tomatoes don't taste like they'd make the best sphaghetti sauce ever, I don't know if I'll be doing this gardening thing again.

It's Marie's garden update time

Shh! Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting wabbits!
Those darn bunnies ate the leaves off my tomatoe plant!

And they left a gift - poop all over the floor! Yuck!!

My first bell pepper. So cute!
My first two. Not as big as I thought they'd be, but still proud of them. They're almost like family and I'm afraid to eat them.

Almost ready. Notice the splits. I learned that's from inconsistent watering. If you don't water regularly, the insides will grow faster than the skin, causing it to split. But they're still edible.

Silly stuff

One silly boy - ready to go swimming.Could we get just one in which Brian doesn't look drunk or have his eyes closed?

When you want something done . . . don't ask your husband!

For over a week, I had asked Drew to add a stake to my tomatoe plant. He didn't. And the weight of the maters broke the branch - see the white break in the very middle. Since I'm a first time tomatoe grower, I learned my lesson and next time, I'll buy a metal cage when I get the plant.

This is the "oh, oh. I'm in trouble" look.

Nice and tied up. Hopefully, there was enough of a connection that the tomatoes survive, but I'm not feeling strongly about it. There are about 5 tomatoes on that broken branch.
My red bell peppers. The blooms have died off and the peppers are going to start forming.

My newest addition. This thing loves the full sun. I hope it'll survive the hot summer.

This is my dwarf lemon tree. It has no blooms and I'm worried I won't get any lemons this season, but I still have time and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Yum!

I love my chick-in-a-egg.

Father's Day

Sadly, we didn't really celebrate Father's Day, and we had a hockey game to go to. But Drew wasn't forgotten about. He did finally get the camera he's been wanting and is having a great time getting to know the features.
At this hockey game, he was able to go out to the players bench to get closer to the game. He took this picture, which I didn't know about, of me, Brandon, and Samantha. Mike surprised us and brought Nicholas and Samantha to the game while Lauri was off with friends. Afterward, we barbecued and went swimming. But for some reason, this is the only picture we have of the day.

No Ropies!

Tetherball anyone?

Veggie Tales

My family is just going to have to acquire a taste for grilled eggplant, because they're a growin'.

The newest addition to my in-a-pot veggie garden.
Meet The Red Bell Pepper.

Tomatoes! Count them - 11! And no salmonella :-)
